In this talk, Shabboo Valipoor Ph.D., EDAC, will discuss how emerging technologies, such as virtual reality, computational simulation, and machine learning, are advancing research at the intersection of design, health, and well-being.
Valipoor is associate professor of interior design in the College of Design, Construction and Planning at the University of Florida, where her research focuses on the impact of the built environment on human health and safety, particularly in healthcare facilities and environments for aging and disability.
Drawing from her interdisciplinary work in healthcare and community settings, she will in this talk share projects ranging from flexible hospital design to inclusive environments for older adults and individuals with disabilities. The talk will highlight how technological tools, combined with cross-disciplinary collaboration, help reframe design as a facilitator of health and well-being and lead to impactful, real-world solutions.
